Not sure what to say?

This man started a spark in me for public service and democracy. I was inspired to get a law degree and worked for legal aid for three years and then was appointed by Governor Milliken to the Administrative Law Bench where I adjudicated disputes between citizens and state government. I always felt that Mr. Woods was looking over my shoulder when I was on the bench, and I acted accordingly. Eternal thanks to him, as I sleep soundly without doubts or regrets.

Bud Woods and I started our school years at the Old Washington School in So. Saginaw He lived on Webber St by Jeffers WE played together.Lost track of him for years. We made contact again at the SHS Class of 61 50th Class reunion RIP my old time friend

Enjoyed gong to school with Bud from Hess School and Saginaw High and being a friend of his on facebook. Loved seeing pictures of his grandsons. Sorry for your loss to his wife and family.

The "World Game" was the highlight of my year and I think of Mr. Woods often when I have had to testify in front of a panel of legislators for work. He was a wonderful teacher and a wonderful human being.

To Mrs. Woods and family---
59 years have passed since Bud and I were high students with John Dashner. Memories surfaced ------Bud's brilliant mind, compassionate heart, humanistic approach to others, and his determination to stand up for political and social justice-----back then and now. I was privileged to connect on Facebook with him and discover he had remained true to his heart and beliefs------the same Bud that I remember 59 years ago. May the memories of this great man keep your...

Bruce and Bud, 2011

Several years ago, a beloved friend, Bruce, recalled that one day after a strenuous discussion during Mr. Woods' class, Bud had remarked: Someday when you're older, I hope we can have a beer together.

Thirty-two years later, someday arrived and we made it happen. Bruce and Bud had a beer together and enjoyed each other's company. It was a special evening for us all.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to reconnect with Bud by Facebook and in real life. He had the same smart,...

I was a student of Mr Woods and a part of "The Game" as a senior. More than once I have told people about this teaching strategy and how the kids in my class reacted to it. This was during Viet Nam war so it was a memorable time of our history.

Bud was an amazing man. His life is truly an example of a life well-lived. He leaves a unique and lasting mark on the minds and hearts of those whose lives he touched.

I am so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. I first met Bud when I was a student teacher at Bridgeport High School. Later, as a teacher, I worked with Bud as a member of the BEA. He spoke so often of his place at Black Lake. I will always remember Bud with both admiration and respect. My best to Pat and his family. Joan Hoover
