IN MEMORY OF EVIE GRAY BRAMEL

EVIE GRAY BRAMEL, age 91, of Moro, Arkansas, went home with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 24, 2025, after a long battle with failing health.

She was born March 8, 1934, in St Francis County, Arkansas to Joe & Charley Gray.

Evie had a true servant’s heart and loved people in word and deed.  Her greatest Joy was being a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Nanny, Great-Grandmother (Nanny), Aunt, friend!  She was a member of Moro Baptist Church.  She served in many ways, including teaching a ladies’ Sunday School class and assisting in Wednesday evening’s Children’s AWANA (Bible memorization), providing pastoral care to the sick and shut-ins and the grieving.  When she was no longer able to go to church, her home was her sanctuary!  She worshipped Jesus from her recliner and looked forward to seeing whoever God brought through her door daily.  One who knew her best describes Evie as “her Bible was worn, her prayers were constant, and her heart was always open.”  Through all the good & hardest days, Evie’s Joy displayed her dependence on Jesus.  She knew Him as Savior, Lord, Protector, Defender…The One she needed most!   For many years she has said “Jesus, I am in Your waiting room.  Come get me when You are ready.”  And He did!!

Evie is survived by her three children Diane Walker of Moro, Paula (Tommy Sr) Jelks of Searcy, and Anthony (Teresa) Bramel of Athens, Alabama;  four sisters Shirley (Ralph) Linder of Lafayette, IN, Peggy Paulsen of Cabot, AR, Barbara Mason of Atoka, TN, and Frankie (Gene) Griffin of Lewisville, TX; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Paul Bramel; her daughter, Lanette (Steve) Spencer; her parents; and her brothers Theo, Berlin, Johnny and Kenneth.

Evie’s grandsons (Lanard, Ashley, T.J., Jeremy, Jonathan, and Justin) are honored to serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends may visit at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley on Tuesday July 29th from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A celebration of life service will be held at Moro Baptist Church on Wednesday July 30th at 11:00 A.M.

Burial will follow at Loughridge Cemetery, Colt, AR.

Memorial donations may be made to Moro Baptist Church

Not sure what to say?

Peggy, sorry for your loss of your beautiful sister. Praying for your family.
Love Cindy Anderson

Aunt Evie influenced me in many ways. She was always encouraging and very loving. I will miss how she would hold my face close and tell me how proud she was and how much she loved me and my family. So very thankful that she was a devoted prayer warrior and studier of God's Word. She would want everyone to know that Jesus is God, He paid for all sin on the Cross, and that Belief only in Him is the way to receive salvation. No work to be saved, no work to keep it because Jesus did it all. ...

Rest in Peace.

Evie was a sweet lady, and came from a wonderful family. She and her brothers and sisters grew up with my parents brothers and sisters the M cGees and the Scott's. Her mother Mrs. Charley and Evies sisters used to keep my sister Linda and I when we were babies. They would say we were they're dolls . Evie and my mother Lucille who is still living were born the same year, and was always very dear friends. She will be dearly missed by her family, but God is taking care of her now. So sorry for...

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I am so sorry for your loss.
