Evie Mae (Lemons) Harmon of Norwood, MO formerly of Sparkman, AR was born August 07, 1912 to Sissy Victoria (James) and Monroe Lee Lemons in Howard County, AR and departed his life on October 03, 2010 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 98 years, 1 month and 26 day of age.
Evie grew up and attended school in Nashville, AR. She was united in marriage to Raymond Harmon on October 06, 1934 near Conway, AR. Although no children were born to this union, Raymond and Evie's home was always open to family and friends and was filled with an abundance of love and delicious home-cooked meals. In addition to being a homemaker, Evie worked in a U. S. military arsenal in Camden, AR during WWII. She also helped during many annual peach harvests and served as a volunteer in a local food pantry. Some of her hobbies included gardening, quilting and crocheting. She was a very accomplished seamstress who made many quilts, afghans, scarves, clothing and beautiful wedding dresses as gifts for loved ones. Evie was an enthusiastic Bible student and earned various certificates of study. Evie dedicated her life to Jesus and was a long-time member of the Church of Christ in Arkansas and Missouri. Evie resided in Norwood, MO for the last 12 years with her niece, Bonnie Harris and husband, Ronald. Evie had a sense of humor and enjoyed spending time around the Sunday dinner table sharing jokes with family and friends.
Evie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Harmon; four brothers, Willie, Granville, Roy and Carol Lemons; and two sisters, Betty (Lemons) Pope and Myrtle (Lemons) Brock. She is survived by a host of family and friends who will dearly miss her.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p. m. Thursday, October 07, 2010 at Holly Springs Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in cha

Mrs. Harmon was a very sweet lady. My mother and I went to church with her in Bearden for many years. She would not sit down until she went to each person and let them know how much she loved them.
