Our lives are often permanently altered by those we meet along the way. Ev was an extraordinary, charming, and generous person in my life. He took a chance on me in 1983 and gave me a career. I am forever grateful.

A true Renaissance man, fine attorney and gentleman the like of which are in ever shortening supply.

Ev was my first employer and mentor as an attorney. 1982-3. I would have made my career with him but for my inability to get along with Beth. He taught me two great lessons above all: be more prepared than your adversary and always be scrupulously truthful. They stood me well in 35 years of practice. I miss his vibrant table each night at Salishsan!

Evohl was always such a gentleman. While walking to get lunch, he insisted on walking on the outside of me closest to the street. I asked him why he did that, "it´s what a gentlemen does" he replied.

I met Evohl at the, long closed, Salesian boarding School in Goshen, NY in 1949/ 50. We were both from the West side of Manhattan, he from c. 96th Street and me from Chelsea. I contacted Evohl again about 6 or 7 years ago when we were about to move to Seattle gone close to our granddaughter. We talk es about his daughter Lisa and my two sons. He also told me about his new wife. I decided to look him up today and found his obit. It describes him as I remember him from 74/ 5 years ago. Rest in...
