May God continue to bless her family always.God has a wonderful one on his team . Healing comes with time and prayer heals all pain. Diane Quarterman Norfolk State University, Norfolk ,Va.

To the family of "Ms. Whitmore" (that's what I called her). I cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear of her departure. In her own special way, she allowed me to appreciate the power of radio, which I grew to love. Please know that she was truly loved and appreciated. -- HIU Class of 1990

I wish to extend my sympathy to the family of Dr. Evonne Whitmore. She was an outstanding instructor of Mass Media Arts at Hampton University. I will always remember the lessons learned from her class many years ago.

Art,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the lost of Evonne. The family must maintain your faith in God, as he will help you to endure the loss.I "quote the late Dr. Joseph C.Price, no matter how dark the night, always believe in the coming of morning."

Evonne Whitmore is the reason I am where I am. She encouraged me when I needed to be encouraged but also pushed me when I needed to be pushed. But the best thing she did for me, was believe in me.

To the Family of Dr. Evonne Whitmore:
Please know that you have my deepest sympathy. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I am a staff member in Career Services at Kent State University and remember fondly those occasions when I presented (at Dr. Whitmore's request) on Resume & Cover Letter Writing for the Journalism students she advised. She was very student centered and wanted her students to be prepared for the real world. Dr. Whitmore will be greatly missed. God bless you...

Art, I'm so sorry to hear about Evonne. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

I am so sad to hear this. Dr. Whitmore was one of my instructors when I was a freshman at Norfolk State in 1977. I was impressed how she taught her class, how she spoke and how she carried herself. She meant business and we youngsters knew it. She was serious about educating us. I saw her a few years later at a journalism conference at Howard University. She gave me a big hug and congratulated me on my success. I will remember that warm smile and her words of encouragement. She was proud of...
