Not sure what to say?

A wonderful reminder from a life well lived. May those who love her continue to remember this legacy and to Jackie, we are with you always as you continue your life's journey without "mother".

It is impossible for me to believe that Excell is no longer with us. It's strange, but when one thinks back to the passing of a person he/she admired and tries to recall on what date said subjected transitioned to her eternal home, one's "best guess" often misses the mark. It seems, in the instance of Excell, as if I learned of her passing just yesterday, and, while working out last night I heard a Percy Faith song on my play list that harkens back to 1974 when, as an acne vulgris riddled...

Remembering the statuesque Excell Jones on this day. Nothing but the fondest memories, the "voice", the woman, the personality. To my "cousin" Jackie,,, remembering you also caring for your mom as she cared for you growing up. Condolences and heartfelt sympathies still.

Another year has passed. Excell's spirit and passion for her career is exceeded only by the love for her daughter Jackie. They were a team. Excell is certainly missed but remain in our hearts always.

Time has passed but the memories have not. We miss you Excell, Mom (Angie) misses you also.

Time, flowing like a river... Time, beckoning me. Who knows when we shall meet again If ever? It is hard to believe that nearly two years have passed and my admiration and respect for Excell is of the same magnitude that it was back in 1975 when I first encountered her. Her strong, resolute voice, basic goodness and thoughtfulness is as memorable now as it was 46 years ago when my friends and I encountered her on WFYR radio at 11PM on Sunday evenings. We enjoyed calling, and...

I am very embarrased by the several earlier posts I made while I was awaiting a flight out of Houston Hobby to Louisville. I was speaking into my phone and, despite my depression of the "send" button, nothing happened. Our so I thought Speaking of "depression", this describes perfectly my lugubrious demeanor as I contemplate the passing of my lovely friend, Excell Jones. To say that she was an integral part, perhaps the most, of my childhood would be akin to saying that Ralph Lifshitz is...

I met this wonderful woman Wally sophomore at Benito Juarez High School in 1975. I was a big fan of her radio show “Boiling Point” in frequently called in To the show and became lifetime friends with them or not Robinson as a result. I am so saddened that I was unable to keep in touch with her but never forgot her. I still possess a T-shirt with the flame of WFYR on its front And will wear it tonight to commemorate her passing.

I am so very sorry to learn of her passing. I finally recall, 1975, listening to the queen every Sunday night at 11 PM on WFYR radio. My friends and I from the northern suburbs of Chicago would call and speak with her and her guests The highlight of my sophomore year of high school came when my English teacher, having read my strong desire to meet Ms. Jones, via a daily journal we kept, invited her to visit our classroom. She did so, and somewhere I still have a photograph of her and me...
