Not sure what to say?

My sincere sympathy and condolences to the family of Master Chief Willoughby. While serving on the USS Manley as a young Naval Officer, he became my mentor when I assumed the duties of division officer in CIC. His guidance and leadership exemplified the highest traditions of the US Navy.

Chief Willoughtby was a bigger than life example of the professionalism that comes from years of dedicated service to the Navy. His example inspired those who made the Navy a career as well as those who served for only one tour.

Not in the Chief's crew but remember him well. I served on the Manley from 1966-1969. I will remember the Chief in my daily prayers.

Dearest Eymard you will live on in my heart, I'll always love you, never forget you, and will see you when I get there.

Had the honor of serving with Master Chief aboard USS Manley (DD 940) during our 1st deployment to Vietnam in 1966. Rest in Peace Master Chief. Surely Fair Winds and Following Seas will be yours for Eternity
