FAIA Richard S. Bundy

Dick was one of the first practicing architects I ever met. While a student at UC Berkeley, I was on the committee for the AIA San Diego Convention which he spearheaded. Later we were both active on the AIA Committee on Design. My belated condolences go out to Marti and family.

Dick helped us to sensitively remodel our 1914 home. He was able to create for us spaces we use everyday that give us constant comfort and joy. His designs fit perfectly for both the way we live and for the historic nature of the home. There should be more guys like him.

I never had the opportunity to work with Dick, but I was aware of his talent in architecture and his gentle personality.

I never had the opportunity to work with Dick but I was familiar with his work and gentle personality and seeing him at the Balboa Park golf course. A fine friend and gentleman!!

My sincere condolences to the Bundy family from Dick's former partner, Ollie Phipps (PBD) (wife, Carole). My memories go back to the beginning of Dick, Ollie and Bruce Dammann's challenging partnership beginnings in the 1970's. To me, Dick was the boyish optimist, always smiling. You are always remembered and forever missed.

A talented Architect and a true gentleman. Dick was so instrumental in championing good design, supporting the activities of the AIA, being a civic leader and a mentor to many young professionals. Even though he will certainly missed by everyone with whom he knew, the contributions he made to San Diego and our profession will reverberate for many years to come. Rest In Peace, Dick...
