Fannie Alberta "Berta " Kent

Fannie Alberta (Berta) Kent, age 61 of Chipley, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at her home. Berta was born Jan. 21, 1949 in Dothan, Ala., to the late William and Glenna English Hammock. A life-long resident of Chipley, she was a former mail carrier in Chipley and was a member of the New Orange Baptist Church in Chipley.
She is predeceased by a brother, Ray Hammock and brother in law, Donald Ray Kent.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Kent of Chipley; one son, Wayne Kent and wife, Tracey of Chipley; one daughter, Sandra Kent of Chipley; four grandchildren, Chelsea Whatley, Lee Whatley, Emily Kent and Sierra Kent; two sisters, Brenda Foxworth and husband, Willie of Graceville, Linda Cain and husband, Farrell of Chipley; sister in laws, Eleanor Johnson and husband, Gerald of Graceville, Sue Griner and husband, Mike of Mossy Head, Naomi Foran and husband. Brady of Alford and a special niece Donna Jo Kent.
Funeral services were held, Dec. 17, in the New Orange Baptist Church in Chipley with the Rev. Alcus Brock officiating. Interment followed in the New Orange Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements. Friends and family may sign the online register at www.brownfh.net.
