Fannie Smith Roberts

Mrs. Fannie Smith Roberts, 73, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at her residence. Fannie was born December 2, 1945 in Burke County, to the late Jack Smith and Florence Causby Smith. She was a loving member at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church. Fannie was a loving mom, who loved to ride with the top down in her convertible listening to Elvis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Clay Roberts Sr.; daughter Terresa Calloway; and sisters, Dolly Lail, Margaret Cook, and Ruby Cline. Survivors include her children, Kenneth Clay Roberts Jr. and wife Amy, Paul Andrew Roberts and wife Kim, and Kenneth Wayne Roberts; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Mammie Turnbill; special friend Pamela Young and family; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Paul Deal and Rev. Bill Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Heritage Funeral Service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
