Great American Hero Passes. Louisiana native Felix J. Polito, member of infamous WWII Black Devil's Brigade, succumbs at 100. Felix was a successful NOLA businessman, and loved his family and his country. On the morning of August 30, 2022 Felix J. Polito passed away in his sleep. Born April 20, 1922 Felix Polito was one of 11 children of Joseph and Antonina Polito of Franklin, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by His wife of 61 years, Angelina (China) DeNicola, their only child, Felix J Polito Jr., his siblings Joseph Polito, Frances Polito Vaccarrella, Frank Polito, Anthony Polito, Lena Polito Puccio, Mary Polito Gennaro, Josephine Polito, Jake Polito, Anna Belle Polito Ricca, Sam Polito, and Virginia Polito Barrilleaux. He is survived by Felix J Polito III (Joey), his grandson/caregiver, Staci Renee Polito, his granddaughter, Lacey Renee Stenger, and David Harley Stenger, great grandchildren, and Nevaeh Gilda Singleton, Fredrick Jamal Singleton Jr., Aubree LaRayne Singleton, and Athalia Beatrix Stenger, great, great grandchildren. As well as several nieces, nephews, grand, and great, too many to list. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 beginning at 12:00pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
