Not sure what to say?

Barb, Dave & Family - My sincere sympathy to all of you, I know you will miss her dearly. When I stopped to think back to when I first met Fern, it was at the little grocery store on the corner of Fairview and Maple Grove which she and Mr. Decker owned. My sister and I would walk there while we were playing 'dress up' and Fern would always tell us how beautiful we were. We would buy penny candy and it seems we were there almost every day. Then Barb and I became such close friends in grade...

Dave, Barb and Girls, I was saddened to hear of the passing of your mom. Barb, I especially remember when you and I were pregnant, you with Vicki and I with Shane. Your mom would watch Brian for me and we would go to our "Birthing" classes. She would always have some kind of yummy homemade goodie for us. Usually Pie. I have fond memories of her. What a kind generous lady. My mom was born just one year before your mom - she passed away a couple of years ago and I still miss her - but...

I was very saddened to hear of Auntie Fern's passing. I have very fond memories of Auntie Fern during our visits to Boise in my childhood...particularly of going to the drive-in theater in her maroon convertible :-).
She was an amazing lady--so quick to laugh, so accepting of others, so full of life and love.
My sympathies to you and your families, Gene and Barb--I know you will all miss her very much.
Love,
Chris

I was of course saddened to hear of Auntie Fern's passing. How many times I've thought of her over the years, always with a gratitude for the joy she brought to my life growing up. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of going to the drive-in cinema with her in the maroon-colored convertible. She was quick to laugh, quick to accept others, always such a joy and positive influence. Gene, Barbara and family...my condolences, I know you will miss her terribly. She was a very very special...

What fond memories the obituary prompted of Auntie Fern. And of course of all the summers, all the food, and all the laughter together. We loved her dearly, and it was such wonderful news to know after the long 9 years alone she passed in the most peaceful way possible. Those Bell women were made of strong stock, and Auntie Fern proved her mettle so many times -- just like Grandma and my own Mom in losing their sight but still being able to function --baking all the way. My fondest...
