I grew up down the street from the Koch's and was part of the "gang". Tim and Robbie Porterfield were best buds, and Kass and I were "twins" (born the same day).
I spent many hours in the Koch home on 175th, and always felt welcomed and loved.
Fern, as we affectionately called her, was one of the "neighborhood mom's" and always looked out that we were safe and fed.
I really miss those days.
