Fern J. Lambert, age 77, of Amity, died Friday, March 31, 2006 in a Little Rock hospital.

A life long resident of Amity, she was born on February 17, 1929, the daughter of Thomas Monroe Lambert and Cora Elizabeth Dafford Lambert.

She was a retired Clark County Government employee, where she had worked for the offices of Sheriff and Collector, County Judge, and served as Deputy County & Probate Court Clerk. She helped organize and was an original member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of the Amity Public Schools, Inc. She had worked as secretary for the Amity Public School system, the Veteran’s School program and as a clerk for the Arkansas State Revenue Department.

She was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Jettie Lambert, Mazelle Kirkpatrick and Jean Elam; and seven brothers, Elmer Lambert, Ellis Lambert, Paul Lambert, Virgil Lambert, Harold Lambert, Doyle Lambert and “Babe” Lambert.

She was survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 3, 2006 in the Amity United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Coy and Rev. James Lybrand officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Interment will be in Jones Cemetery under the direction of Smith Davis of Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Dan Elam, Sam Speer, Britt Elam, Dale Richardson, Henry Lambert, Sammy Doughty and Jeremy Benton.

Memorials may be made to the Jones Cemetery Association or the Amity United Methodist Church.
