It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Fernando Moniz Couto in his 84th year at University Hospital, London on Monday, October 8, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Maria Fernanda Couto (1995). Dear father of Olimpio Couto (Jennifer) and Maria Fatima Serodio (George Teves). Loving grandfather of Matthew, Carlie, Sarah, Eric, Vanessa and Nick. Cherished brother of Olga Couto of Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Fernando immigrated in 1959 from Santo Antonio, Nordestinho. His friendliness and kindness to all people and his devotion to his family is a tribute to the beauty of his heart and soul. His inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church, 10 Elm St. at Hamilton Rd. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., followed by entombment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London.
