Fernando E Garcia (Fred E) -- January 1946-March 2020 On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, Fernando E Garcia (AKA Fred E) from Littleton, CO went home to his father in heaven. Despite his crusty exterior, cutting remarks and stubbornness, there is actual evidence that he was a loving, giving and caring person. That evidence is the deep sorrow and pain in our hearts that his family and friends feel from his passing. Fernando led a good life and had a peaceful death while at home surrounded by his family. He was someone who claimed that he did not like to commit, but he was married for over 51 years to Martina Dodge Garcia. He was a devoted father, father-in-law, and abuelito; to his daughter Michele of Littleton, CO and her children, Santana of Buckley AFB and Kobe of Panama City, FL, including her fur baby, Luna; to his son Fernando L, Crystal of Clovis, NM and their children Fernando R of Littleton,CO, Orion, Genoveva, and Balthazar of Clovis NM; to his son Konrad, Lindsey and their children Deymeyun and Heyvynn of Littleton, CO. He was fortunate to add two new grandchildren thru marriage, Dulce and Sarah of Littleton, CO. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and that is how he measured his success. Fernando was born in Albuquerque in 1946 to Bonifacio (deceased) and Genoveva Garcia who survives him In Roswell, NM. His brother Rudy J. Garcia (Rosanne) resides in Clovis, NM. His sisters Sylvia Sisneros (Nash) and Hope Rico (Henry) reside in Roswell. He is further survived by many nephews and nieces, including the whole Dodge clan of Clovis, NM, plus a host of long-time friends. He grew up in Clovis, NM and brought notoriety to himself, and New Mexico in 1963 as the first National Golden Glove Champion (boxing). He also qualified for the 1964 Summer Olympics. In 1965 he won the Texas State Boxing title and once again traveled to the Nationals but was denied a second national title. He moved to Roswell in 1970, was a mechanic for Levi Strauss and attended ENMU-R. He moved back to Clovis for a short time and served as a Curry County Deputy Sheriff once he graduated from NM Law Enforcement Academy. Upon his return to Roswell he established life long connection with extended family and many friends. . Fernando had a passion for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting and camping with his friends and family. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, compassionate spirit and he brought humor and enjoyment to those around him. Services are pending due to COVAD-19. Please visit his memorial webpage at http://tributes.com/Freddie and add your own story of Fernando's legacy and life.
