Ferris D. Hatch Kennewick, WA Ferris Dean Hatch, 67, died Aug. 28, 2009 of a heart attack. He was born in Logan, Utah on Oct. 27, 1941 to Daniel and Ida Hatch. He graduated from North Cache High School and Utah State University with a degree in Accounting. He married Pauline Ballard on Aug. 4, 1965 in the Logan Temple. He moved to the Tri-Cities in 1967 where he worked for Isochem Inc., Atlantic Richfield Hanford and Energy Northwest retiring in Dec. 2006. He was a member of the National Management Association. Ferris was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a 2 ½ year mission in the Cook Islands of the South Pacific. He served in many capacities of the church including Bishop of the Kennewick 5th Ward and in the Stake Presidency of the Kennewick Washington East Stake. Recently he and Pauline served a mission at the Kennewick Regional Dry Pack Cannery. He was a faithful and devoted Home Teacher. Ferris drew great pleasure from raising cattle and provided grain fed beef for many friends and family. He was involved for the past two years with the Market Stock at the Benton Franklin County Fair. In his younger years he enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially basketball and slow pitch softball. He played on many church leagues as well as leagues from work. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp with his family. He was a dearly loved husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife Pauline; children Sheree and Bruce Winterfeld of Beaverton, Oregon; Holly and Ryan Rhoten of West Richland; Reed and Tanis Hatch of Tucson, Arizona; Don and Tara Hatch of Richland; and Kevin Hatch of Richland; and 14 grandchildren; brothers Paul Hatch of Pasco; and George Hatch of Stansbury Park, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Belton and Ron; sister Lenora Corburn; and son Brent Hatch. There is a viewing September 3rd, 4-7:00 at Hillcrest Memorial, 9353 W. Clearwater Ave. Memorial services will be held at 11am Friday Sept. 4, 2009 in the LDS Chapel on 45th and Olympia in Kennewick with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
