Dear Ferris.....what a bright spot you filled in my association with you. I recall going to your Halloween parties and other such activities! I always felt such admiration and affection when we were growing up in Westfield NJ. I feel certain your wonderful earthly life served you well as you made your way heavenward to realize life is forever! Bless your heart and your family as well! Jayne (Lavey) Jarvis

Ferris taught mindfulness psychotherapy at Antioch University when I attended there in 1991. She had an amazing presence about her. I was going through a difficult time and just being around her and that warm, wonderful, smile made a huge difference for me. I now have a private practice after a 30 year career in Community Mental Health. Mindfulness is the foundation of my practice and I will forever be grateful for the influence Ferris had in my life and career.

Ferris's heart felt laughter will always be with me. Her beautiful daughters and grand babies my hand is extended with love that radiates from Ferris. Our times at Wildcat, Peterborough lunches, Peru- our mutual laughter at our fear of those big Amazon snakes, her home on the beautiful hillside of Vermont and of course the farmers market. Her wisdom, love and beauty will be with me as I plant more flowers here in Charlottesville. Oh yes our laughter at touring Montecello when she stayed with...

A photo of Ferris hangs over my meditation altar. Every morning I talk to her and hear her throaty laugh so clearly. She’s still supporting me with so much love. I hope I’m doing the same for her.

Dear Tasha and Alex, warmest sympathies to you both on the death of your mom. She was a beautiful person, who lit up the room - any room - with her presence. My mom, Li, loved spending time with her and working with her. I can't think of any other friend whom my mother responded to with comparable warmth. I'm returning to you, Alex, a photo of Ferris, you, and my mom, which I think conveys something of the joy they took in each other's company. With best wishes to you and your families, Peter.

My deepest sympathies go out to Tasha and Alex and their family. I am forever grateful for Ferris' friendship and loving guidance when I was a new mother. She was like an aunt to me. Always sincere and caring. Rest in peace sweet Ferris.
