Fresno, California - Fidel Vargas Tristan, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, at the age of 87. He was born in San Marcos, Texas, in 1935, and lived a full and accomplished life.

Fidel was a kind and selfless man who always put others before himself. He was a loving husband to his wife Jackie, and a devoted father to his children, Fidel Jr., Maria, Joe, Reggie and Joelle. He was also a loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher (who preceded him in death), Ryan, Davian, Javier, Robert, Josie, Jessica, Reggie III, Anthony and Andrew.

Fidel was a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated several companies including, a family concession stand at the Cherry Ave. Swap Meet, the High Chaparral Bar, reseller at the Red Barn Swap Meet in Aromas, CA., Co-owner of the Valley Inn Motel in Mesquite Nevada and lastly President of OptimalAire a Durable Medical Equipment Company. He was also a passionate horseman who presided over the Asociaciones de Charros de Fresno, head chef, cabinet maker, soccer coach and carpenter. Fidel drew his energy from being around people and no one ever felt like a stranger in his presence. Fidel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends alike, as he possessed the special gift of making extended family, neighbors and strangers feel like they were life long friends.

Fidel will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a loving and caring man who touched the lives of many.

A memorial service will be held on December 06, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Lisle Funeral Home in Fresno, CA.
