DIFFIN, Fleta Jean - Age 67, passed away at her daughter's home in California on February 18, 2011 from a long battle with lung cancer. Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 12 Noon Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Fleta was born in Hazard, KY to Everett and Jane Branson. She worked at Fisher Body until going out on sick leave. Fleta loved many things including painting, dancing and NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. For many years Fleta enjoyed going up north and camping with her husband. She is survived by husband, Cal Diffin of Clio MI; son, Bobby Slone of Flint MI, daughter, Tonya and Toney Martinez of L.A., CA; stepson, Kim and LuAnn Diffin of Ashley MI; stepdaughters, Kelly and Tom Ball of Cadillac, MI, Tina and Doug Grey of Clio MI, Tammy and Rodney Leff of New Lothrop, MI; grandchildren, Cory, Ayanna, Adrionne, Jennifer, Deanna, Dawn, Tara, Eric, Andrea, Megan, Jesse, Jacob, and Sadie; brothers, A.G. and Lynn Branson of Long Beach, CA, Justin and Vickie of Tustin, CA, Don and Kelli Branson of Manastee, MI; sister, Shirley and Al Wolfe of Taylor, MI; special sisters-in-law, Mary Smith and Joan Branson; many nieces and nephews. Fleta is preceded in death by her grandson, Eddie Barlow; sisters, Elizabeth Bender and Delana Parks. Cremation has already taken place. Burial of remains will be in Viper, KY. Our prayers are with you at this time. Have very fond memories of our fishing trip to Caseville. Many years ago now. Sure had lots of laughs and caught two pails of bullheads. May you rest at peace now.
