Not sure what to say?

When I came to SF in early 70's I was hired by Fletcher to do refining on his pieces (sanding) I learnt the importance of detail. I believe it was a show in Tokyo he was having. Stayed with me all my life. Thank you, Fletcher, I was painter passing thru, but sure do honor your place in art!

Dear Bobbi I just learned that Fletcher passed away in 2019. I am sending you my condolences to you and your family. I hope you are well. I have many happy memories of us in the late 70s and early 80s with John B. All the best Diana

He was an inspiring teacher at San Jose State who loved to make art! His stories snd persistance were amazing! He marched to his own drum. His work is beautiful and strong.

I remember when he was "Chappie" (Chapman) as teenagers in Jackson, Ohio. He painted a red ball cap with the inscription "Coca Cola", where I then worked, for me. He was a marvelously comfortable person to be with, and I'm glad he accomplished so much.

Treated Artists as Equals and always a gentleman. Met Fletcher at his opening at Esther Robles in LA in 1972. He invited me to be his guest at Esther and Bob's and a collector to the traditional dinner after the opening. No one would believe one of the topics at dinner. Driving the Bay Area with someone I would say block after block " there's another Benton. Diane and I will always remember the gracious invitations to small personal and and large events. Our heartfelt condolences to Bobbie,...

His work adds beauty to my life every day.

Dear, brilliant Fletcher. I was an old friend and saw him do the sketches for that incredible SOMA loft/foundry/office, then watched it rise, trains and all. What a versitle genius. And good friend. Love to Bobbi and the children from Ann Seymour, now Morshead (Bob died too).

So sorry Ashley!

I have so many memories from when we were in grammar school, making art and playing in your Dad's studio - from him helping us with tools to encouraging us to make art.

Best, Lisa Kerth-Zittel

Losing a loved one is never easy, but our loving God promises to give the strength and courage you'll need to endure, and to cope with the pain of your loss. He also promises to hold your hand every step of the way. (Isaiah 40:29, 41:10, 13) May loving memories also sustain your family during this difficult time. With sympathy Ann Smith.
