REID, Fletcher Sr., 87, of Richmond, departed this life suddenly on Friday, August 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 62 years, the late Jennie Jane Townes Reid. He leaves to cherish his memory five devoted children, Fletcher Reid Jr. (Sylvia), Joan R. Owens (Larry Sr.), Rev. Cathy Rodwell, Margaret Haskell (Calvin Sr.), Larry Reid (Thelma), 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one devoted sister, Virginia Bolling of Bronx, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, among them three devoted neighbors, Dolores Brooks, Marie Perry and Rose Parker. He was helpful, understanding, and he loved to cook, eat and see everyone enjoy his cooking. He will be greatly missed. He is finally with the love of his life, our mother, Jennie, affectionately known to him as "Baby." Remains rest with Owens Funeral Services, 104 Green Chimneys Ct., Ashland, Virginia 23005, where a public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012, noon to 8 p.m. He will lie in state at Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1408 W. Leigh Street, Richmond, Va., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012, followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. Full obituary and online condolences at www.owensfuneralservices.com.
