I'm so sorry I just found out about her home going since I was at Allison's for the holidays. I think it is joyful that she chose to go on Christmas Day!!! Flora made so many contributions to the field of early childhood education, especially to the professional development of the workforce. She was instrumental in getting the CDA requirement for lead teachers in Florida legislation so that teachers would be better prepared. Flora touched the lives of so many during her years at OWJC/OWCC. She built the Home Economics/Child Development Program from the beginning and in the later years of her career at OWCC served as the Director of the Chautauqua Center. Not only did she make a difference in the lives of so many students, Flora was a well-known and respected leader in child development/early childhood education through out Florida.
