BRAXTON, Deaconess Florence Jean, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. She was born on August 15, 1947 to the late Walter and Vinceree Braxton and was preceded in death by her sister, Margurite B. Love. She leaves to cherish her memory, two loving children, Walter and Thelma; five grandchildren, Richard, Sharitta, Walter, La'Tonio, and Faith; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Porter (Rev. Christopher Porter), Thelma and Phyllis Braxton; two brothers, Walter Jr. (Laverne) and Raymond (Marian) Braxton; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and many helping hands, Charella Tolliver, CNA (honorary daughter), Tanya and Katrina Bledsoe (honorary granddaughters); devoted friends, Deacon Lesterine Whitehead, Ms. Antoinette Smith, Raymond Allen, Raymond Winston and Curtis Corbin and John Wilson. Remains rest at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave. A Home-going Celebration will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010, 12 noon at Great Hope Baptist Church, 2101 Venable St., Rev. Dr. E. Leslie Bledsoe Sr. officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Remains will rest in church one hour prior to service.
