Not sure what to say?

Hi Alberta,
We're sorry to hear your Mom passed away. I remember spending some time with her and Lynne in Vancouver back in 1987. She was a lot of fun.
Wonderful person who made you feel good about yourself...a positive outlook indeed.

Take care,

Love Kerry & Terri Boytzun

Our Grandma, Florence Byers, was a lady who faced life head on without flinching. In the situations that created concern she invariably found the silver lining and unstintingly shared it with those around her. A courageous woman, who wasn't afraid to take risks, Grandma showed us how to live life to the fullest, see the positive side of people, give the benefit of the doubt, and live with a generous spirit. We deeply miss her.

My great grandma will be remembered lovingly by me, and all who knew her. My memories are so lovely, she was such a sweet and inspiring lady. The stories such as her driving a taxi back in the day when women didn't usually do those kinds of things, just one of the stories she had to share, gave me a legacy of great women in my family who do great things. I hope to be able to be a bit like her in my life.
I was sorry not to be able to be with my family during the celebrations of her life...

My Grandma Byers was perhaps the most positive person I have ever known. She was always happy no matter what her circumstance. I have such good memories of going to visit her first in her house in Edmonton where she had a TV and I could watch Friendly Giant, pick raspberries in her garden and have pancakes for breakfast....and then in Vancouver where she would take us to stanley park to feed the ducks and geese. Thanks GG for being so good to me.

Both as a kid, and as an adult, Rice Krispies and Grandma were synonymous. This was not something that I thought about, it was a given - written in stone, like Newton's Law. Then came the eulogy, and Rice Krispies was a common theme touching everyone who knew Grandma. Returning back home, in memory of my Grandma, I went shopping for Kellogg's Rice Krispies, Kraft marshmallows, and BUTTER. Yes, they were delicious, and I ate the whole pan, but they were not quite the same as Grandma's. I...

"Perhaps they are not the stars but rather holes in the heavens where the love of our lost ones pours down upon us to let us know they are happy." -unknown

A woman of great strength with such a kind, loving soul, Florence Byers has left an indellible mark on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. I'll be looking for that new and brilliant star in the heavens knowing that her love is pouring down upon me and that she is happy.

Our mother, Florence Rosalie Byers, lived a good, long life: 101 years and two months. She always enjoyed helping others. A woman of faith, she did much volunteer work in Erskine and Kirk United Churches in Edmonton. She spent a very active and busy life in retirement in Vancouver
before moving back to Edmonton. She was loved and highly regarded by all members of the family. We miss her very much.

For our mother, Florence Rosalie Byers (nee Casper),a writing from her collection:

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on the snow,
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in the circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my...

I am so sorry to hear about Grandma Byers. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
