Florence Ziegler went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2021.
She was born June 1, 1929, in Canova, SD, to Victor E. and Phebe H. (Lindblom) Brown. She graduated from Canova High School and attended Nettleton Commercial College. While at Nettleton, she was selected "Ideal Secretary" by the faculty. She married Henry (Hank) Ziegler July 19, 1957, in Sioux Falls. They lived in Illinois and Wisconsin, returning to Sioux Falls in 1960.
Florence worked for Western Surety for seven years. While living in Wisconsin, she was a secretary in the corporate office of the J. I. Case Company Industrial Division. She retired from Small Business Administration as a Legal Technician after 36 years of service in Sioux Falls.
She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church and served in the past as church clerk and member and secretary of the Trustee Board. She was Sunday School Department leader/ teacher in the 4-year-old department 50 years. After her retirement, she volunteered one day a week in the church office for over 20 years. She also volunteered for Central Baptist Preschool & Kindergarten.
Survivors include three sons, Bill (Crystal), Sioux Falls, Bradley (Dawn), Burnsville, MN and Richard (Denise), Dalton, GA; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron) Rush, Avon, SD, Rebecca (Taylor) Caspers, Sioux Falls, Rachel (Travis) Schelhaas, Sioux Falls, Kiersten and Brennan Ziegler, Burnsville, MN, Griffin and Camille Ziegler, Dalton, GA; twelve great-grandchildren, Kuyper, Zane, Charlie, Finley and Ezra Rush, Tiras, Ronan and Mara Caspers, Wesley, Waverlynn, Renae, and Remington Schelhaas; and nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2018, parents, a brother, Everett Brown, and a sister, Loretta Winberg.
Funeral services will take place at Central Church on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. The family invites you to join them for a time of food and fellowship following the service.
Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, September 2, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Central Church.

My sincere sympathy & condolences to Florence's family & friends. I worked with her husband Hank at Job Service
of South Dakota for 12 years. Hank & Florence were always an inspiration that they were such kind & caring friends. May God bless all of you & in our hearts & memory of her that God Made a great Lady.
