Not sure what to say?

My condolences to The Ackfeld Family. Although I never met Floriana, I felt like I knew her from hearing Tom and Ricard talk about what a fine person she was.

Such a wonderful "second mom"!!!! The Lammerts and Ackfelds go way back. My memories of farm weekends, lunchbreaks from school, chicken noodle soup, sleepovers (with Barb still at home) and many, many more! RIP Mrs. A--you will be missed but always remembered.

I remember a July Sunday afternoon not long ago Skip, Peggy, Grandma and Sue and I sitting on the deck in Reeds Springs with the lake view, Danny Boy squawking in the background, the bark of Maggie in the woods behind the house, and of course an ice cold draft beer (we all really enjoy our beer). "Little Grandma" was reminiscing about when Grandpa or as she
said "Daddy" was outside singing through the window to her while she was doing dishes at her parent's home in East St. Louis. I...

The greatest woman I've ever known. Never heard her say a bad thing about anyone until her nineties, and have to admit loved her nineties, she was spunky and let it rip. She was always there for me to lift me up and make me feel special. She was there for every landmark event in my life. I will miss her dearly. One of my many favorite memories is living with her as a young child and I wanted to watch the Wizard of Oz, but it was dinner time. So, I pulled the old vomit trick (it always...

I will miss you Grandma. Love, your Ladybug.

She raised me to be the woman I am now and I can't be more thankful for her always being there for me. She was always where I ran when I wanted to get away. She even supported my hatred of pink when I was a little tom-boy. I spent my summers gardening, cooking, and playing chicken feet, Skip-Bo and 21 with her. Of course she always won poker because well, shes Grandma! :) One of my many favorite memories of her was when she would have me feed her roses and she would tell me not to water some...

Out thoughts and prayers to you all from those of us here in South Dakota. What a wonderful woman! Praise God that she gave you all tons of great memories to see you through this sad time.

My Grandma...Heart of Gold, Friend to all, Caregiver, Teacher, Nurse, Great Listener, and the list could go on forever she was everything to everyone. I am blessed to be able to call her my Grandma. I will miss her deeply but know she will still be there for me whenever I need her. I am so happy to have been able to spend my life with her. The Ackfeld Family has been blessed to have such a wonderful woman leading our Family she in my eyes is the true "First Lady".

There has been no greater friends to the Harmon family than the Ackfeld's. Our family history began sometime in the late 1930's with Ed, Floriana, and my grandparents Walter and Helen Harmon. The Harmon's greive the passing of this wonderful person as if she was part of our family. My wish is the freindship of our two families continue for years to come.
A historical photograph of the early friendship can be viewed by visiting the Route 66 Museum in Eureka, Missouri. Look for the Stieny's...
