She was the type of person who always put her family and others ahead of herself. She was a very caring, loving, compassionate and thoughtful person, who always had her doors opened for her family, all of her friends and even strangers. She enjoyed cooking so much that if you came to visit her, she would insist that you would have to eat before you leave or she would fix you a plate or give you a snack to take with you. It was very important to her that no one left her house hungry or thirsty.
Florine was an employee of ConAgra Frozen Foods until her retirement and a long time member of the Mt. Grove Chapel, Church of the Brethren at Dyke. The family would like to thank Pastor James "Jim" Jinks and Pastor Steve Shifflett; and all of her friends and neighbors for all the visits and kindness during her illness.
A very special thank you to doctors Jonathan and Mary Evans, who took such excellent care of Mom during her stay at the Laurels and we would like to thank all of the staff there for their kindness, their love and the care that was given to Mom. Also, we would like to say thank you to Mary Gordon for being such a great roommate and friend. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Reverend Jim Jinks officiating. An online guestbook is available at www.ryanfuneral.com.
