I was honored to serve with my friend in the SC House of Representatives and work with him at the College of Charleston. Floyd leaves with us a legacy of love and kindness.

Mr. Breeland was a Teacher, Mentor and Friend; having taught me 8th grade English at W. Gresham Meggett High School on James Island. His love for the spoken word left an indeliable impression upon me and planted my own love for public speaking. He was a dedicated Educator who taught thousands from the classrooms of segregated schools into the millenium. He was available to us (his students) throughout their lives, even as we became adults.
