Having been e-mailing with Floyd in early December, I was blind-sided with my unfortunately belated receipt of the news of his passing. I knew he was seriously ill but not to such an extent.
He and I were part of a group of four friends who met in the sixth grade and remained in contact through high school and beyond. Dr. Garrett was a fine man and an outstanding psychiatrist. Although I am somewhat annoyed with him for baling before our work was done. BUT as Dr. Garrett would say "That is just more grist for the mill". I'll miss our discussions about Plato and Epictetus and our ongoing disagreement regarding the psychological make up of Raskolnikov and Medea. He will be terribly missed by me and many others he helped.
