Gregory, Floyd Everett Entered Eternal Life on August 31, 2013, at the age of 89. Resident of Alexian Village, formerly of Rantoul, IL. Beloved husband for sixty-seven years of Margaret "Jean" Gregory (nee McHenry). Loving father of Brent (Mary Sharon) Gregory of Whitefish Bay, WI and Stephen A. Gregory of Albuquerque, NM. Proud grandfather of Kathleen (Travis) Vigil, Jean Gregory, Anne Gregory (Sean Casey), Leo (Anne) Gregory, and Carol Gregory (David Thompson). Great-grandfather of Maya and Dylan Vigil and Seneca and Liam Gregory. Dear brother of Audrey Gritton, Paul Gregory, and Doris Dailey. Pre-deceased by four sisters and two brothers. Further survived by many relatives and good friends. Floyd served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp flying fifty missions as a flight engineer with the 783rd Bomb Squadron based in Pantanella, Italy. While Floyd dropped out of high school to save his family's Kentucky farm, he later completed his education and went on to be the highest ranking civilian employee at Chanute Air Force Base, in charge of the Missile Training School. Family was always most important for Floyd; he served as PTA president and Boy Scout leader, and faithful attendee of children's and grandchildren's events. After his retirement from Civil Service, Floyd had a second career as business manager in the high tech industry. He researched, compiled, and published a history of the 783rd Bomb Squadron and organized WWII reunions. He filled his history of the Gregory family, a treasured legacy, with photos, anecdotes, and facts. Floyd was quick to make and keep friends. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Floyd will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. The family wishes to thank the staff of Alexian Village, Always Best Care, and Allay Home and Hospice for their loving, attentive care of Floyd. Family will greet friends on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Alexian Village, Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 9301 N. 76th Street, Milwaukee, followed by a memorial service celebrating Floyd's life at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Floyd's name may be made to Alexian Village, Employee Appreciation Fund.
