Not sure what to say?

Frances, we are grateful to have known Floyd. You and he will always be models for how we would like to live, both personally and professionally. Please accept our condolences.

Floyd and the Horowitz family were an essential part of my childhood, and I have missed him and Frances greatly since they moved away. I was so sad to read that he is no longer with us, but his life was an inspiration.

Dear Frances and family,
We remember Floyd's wonderful sense of humor and great cooking! Floyd was a true renaissance man who contributed in so many ways to the community of scholars at the University of Kansas. We feel privileged to have known both of you.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with you and your family, Frances. May your dear husband rest in peace.

Our warmest blessings to you, Frances, and to your family. We are sad that we did not have the opportunity to know Floyd -- what a fine, creative, interesting, spirited man he must have been.

Floyd and Frances were unforgettable members of the KU community, as Floyd was an extraordinarily accomplished, complicated English Department colleague. What a full and worthy life he led!

We remember Floyd well for his kindness and generosity. We shared many Sabbath dinners with him and Frances. They took us into their hearts. Floyd and Frances were there for us when we most needed help and guidance. Hamba Kahle (go well) as they say in isiZulu, dear friend.

Sympathies Frances to you and your family. Very fond memories of Floyd, especially his sense of humor. RIP this fine man.

Thank you, Dr. Horowitz. You were so much more than I realized at the time.
