Not sure what to say?

As I look at a slip of paper than Floyd gave me with his name and phone number handwritten - and remember his words - if I can ever help you, call - remembering that I only personally met him when I first visite his home as a Census worker - I think what a wonderful short time friend he was and feel sorrow that it could not be a very ong time friendship.

My best to the family and to Floyd's best little friend - SAM - whom I hope is well, happy and prospering?

Me & Dad September 21, 1996

I returned to the Guest Book to remember Floyd and to read the sentiments of the many people who admired and loved him. I had left a message earlier and realized that I had left out on very important creature in Floyd's life and the is, Sam, Floyd's faithful and loving little canine companion. I hope that Sam is living in a place where he can have the comfort and care that Floyd would have wanted. He is a special little Dog.

My prayers go out to the Hudgins Family at this time of loss of a loved one. I have known Floyd all my life and have recently grown very close to him. We have had alot of fun and shared alot of memories. He was a great man and will be missed so very much. God bless the family. Joanie Sizemore Smith

My memories of Floyd Hudgins are that my father worked with him and years later I found myself working at Fort Benning with Mrs. Margie Hudgins. It was a true delight to know the Hudgins family. May the memories you all share of him sustain and comfort you.

Wayne, Dixie and I are saddened by the Loss of Floyd. He was a good person and served his community and State well. I use to enjoy his visits with me in Richland during the time I was the Chief of Police. He will be remembered fondly.

I remember Floyd I worked for him at the Insurance Company . I was only 17 and Floyd found out I was having problems at home and moved out of my moms house. It was Easter and he called me in his office and gave me some money and made sure I had somewhere to stay . He would also let me tag along for lunch sometimes . I will never forget him...

I could always count on hearing some good stories when my dad went to visit Floyd.I remember spending Saturday afternoons visiting Mr. Floyd and Mrs. Margie learning about golf watching Arnie and Jack shoot it out on tv. Even though I was young I understood how some people only needed one name and people still knew who you were talking about. Floyd was one of those people. He was a life time friend to my family and his friendship will truly be missed by the Joe Thompson Family. My deepest...

I knew Floyd for 40 years and you could not have asked for a more dedicated public servant and personal friend. He will be missed!
