FLOYD H. HYDE

I knew Floyd from the time I was a small child in Fresno until we last worked together in the 1970s when he was with HUD and I was with Chico State University and in health planning. My father Richard Adams was Floyd's brother, Harry Hyde's best friend all their adult lives starting in the 1930s so we saw the Hyde family often. I may have been named for Floyd's first wife, Marilyn. Floyd had a successful and full life.

I was seated beside Floyd for nearly four years as we served on the Fresno City Council. He was my mentor, friend and substitute father. --Mayor pro Tem Elvin C. Bell
