Floyd Kalberg

Obituary

Kalberg, Floyd age 51, of Golden Valley, MN died on August 11, 2008. He fought his cancer but the cancer took his life--it did not conquer who he was. He is survived by his wife, Renee and daughters, Miranda and Megan. His family also included sisters, Carol Anderson, Margaret Berreth, Kathy (Wally) Weidholz, Lori Francis, and Tammy Kalberg; sister-in-law, Dawn (Brad) Wylie and brother-in-law, Todd (Diane) Damuth. He was "Uncle Floyd" to many nieces and nephews, each whom he treasured throughout his life. Floyd was surrounded by a community of friends, neighbors and co-workers who have also supported him and us through this journey. He was a preeminent softball coach in Golden Valley. He mentored the hundreds of girls in the 13 years he served in this program as coach, president and "summer dad". He was a proud and active member of neighborhood, church and civic organizations. The family is so appreciative of the Fairview Hospice team for all their care during his final days. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be Wednesday, August 13th, 3 pm at Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church, 5530 42nd Ave. N., Robbinsdale, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Visit www. caringbridge.org/visit/floydkalberg
