Not sure what to say?

I am Floyd's niece and want very much to pass on his legacy to my grandchildren.

I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. Mr. Leonard was a very special gentleman.
In 1969, for my first teaching job, Mr. Leonard hired me to teach a fifth grade classroom in Webb City. I have since retired from Miami, Oklahoma and now Joplin.
A few years ago, I had the chance to thank him for beginning my career. His life touched so many people.

Ottawa Tribal member.

We will remember Chief Leonard, with a smile. He will always hold a "Special" place in our hearts. Our Prayers and Thoughts are with you all.

Mr. Leonard, Mrs. Leonard, and Joe were the most kind, sincere, and nurturing neighbors a person could ever climb a fence to visit. You are forever in my memory. My deepest sympathies are with you Pat, Joe, Etsuko, and Wesley.

As I reflect on the life of Floyd Leonard, I am reminded of the words of Maya Angelou: "When we cast our bread upon the waters, we can presume that someone downstream whose face we may never see will benefit from our action..."
So many of us benefited from the actions and good works of Floyd Leonard.

It was such a pleasure to play music with Mr. Leonard at the Joplin Area Hootenannies. He would tell me his name was Floyd and I didn't have to call him Mr. Leonard. No way could I just call him Floyd. He was and will be Mr. Leonard: A true dignitary.

My deepest sympathies. I considered him a good friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Leonard family. Peace be with you.
