I can't think about Floyd without thinking of my mother. My mother would get so excited about Floyd coming to visit her. We would go to the store and she would make sure she picked up cookies for their coffee. He was the highlight of her week. Such a loving and patient man. And if he told my mother he was coming, he would be there. He was my mother's oldest sister, Odetta Alexander's, son. And he treated my mother as beautifully as he treated his mother. Dear Kathy and Family: Our hearts ache along with yours for a man who gave so much. While we didn't know Floyd personally, I, Cindi, felt I knew him for all positive things you would relate about him. In addition, the obituary was a great tribute to a man who belonged to the greatest generation. While he may be absent from your family circle, his legacy will be with you forever. Rest in peace, Dear Floyd, for a job well done.

I'll always remember how attentive Floyd was to my mother, Marguerite Barnwell. He visited her weekly without fail.

He was a great father, grandfather,son,brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle.
