MILLVILLE - Floyd Allen Santos was one of the last real American cowboys. Having worked on various cattle ranches for over 60 years, Floyd could always be found with a horse or cow dog close to his side. Floyd was born on July 25, 1921 on a cattle ranch in Napa, CA. It wasn't too long before he...

Not sure what to say?

Dear Jim, Lloyd and families and Elaine and family -- I am so sorry I couldn't be present at the funeral of my favorite cowboy in the whole world....Floyd! I was fortunate enough to get to visit him in March after 40 years or so of being away. I will cherish that visit for the rest of my life as I will the beautiful memories I hold deep in my heart of my times with Floyd and Dorothy in Millville. They were such a special part of my life and the friendship I shared with them was with so...

Jim, Linda, Miley & Blaine...
I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Floyd real well, but I do remember meeting him a few times when we loaned our pasture out for some of his mules. I learned some interesting things about mules during those times. Floyd was a real kick to talk to! And, I am sure he was in the audience at many Millville School gatherings. I thought your dad/grandpa was a very special guy and I know you will miss him a lot!
Sending you lots of love and prayers!

Jim and Linda: I am so sorry to hear about Floyd's passing. I have such fond family memories of spending time with the Santos' family. Travis, Shelby & I send our love.

I am so sorry that I wasn't able to attend the services for Floyd on Saturday. He and my dad would appreciate this though - I was on my way back from Washington with a new cow horse!

The thing I always loved about Floyd was the way he dressed up when going out on the town. He reminded me of a cowboy you would see in a movie! He was a wonderful man and we will miss him.

Mom, I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good man and a very important part of our lives. I am deeply sorry I can't be there for you, but you will have Sharon and Taylor to keep you busy.

To the Santos Families: Your dad and grandpa will always be a part of your lives. He will live in your hearts forever.

Floyd - We haven't talked for some time, so I will take this time to say I love you! You kept Mom busy and allowed to her to be a part of your very diverse life. ...

Another Cowboy riding the range in the sky, he will be missed.

I have always held a soft spot in my heart for the BEST cowboy I've ever known. I have some very good memories of our family times together with Floyd and Dorothy and I will always cherish those. I also have a wonderful picture of Floyd moving some cows during spring, cow dogs and Mt. Shasta in the picture......it is glorious.

My sincere sympathies to the family and extended family. Floyd was a treasure.
