Boonville ? Floyd Allen Wilmoth, 78, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was born September 4, 1934 in Surry County to the late Cletus Grover Wilmoth and Edith Pardue Wilmoth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, J.C. Wilmoth and Thomas Ray Wilmoth. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Poll Wilmoth; children, Timothy (Janet) Wilmoth, Darwyn (Renee) Wilmoth, Thomas Wilmoth, Tina (Mark Helms) Barrett, Terry (Laura) Wilmoth; grandchildren, Rachel (Chris) Long, Christa Wilmoth, Michael Wilmoth, Christianna Barrett, Cameron Wilmoth, Ashley Wilmoth; and other family members. His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Fred Guldberg. Burial will follow at Mitchell?s Chapel Cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Wilmoth family. We were saddened to hear of the loss of you father, Tony and Renee. Your whole family has our sympathy and will be in our thoughts and prayers.

To the Wilmoth family - my deepest sympathy to you. Floyd was a true patriot who gave a lot for this country, during his captivity as a POW during the Viet Nam war. My prayers are with you. Rest In Peace Floyd!!

To Aunt Virginia and my cousins: The Jerry Blank family will greatly miss Uncle Floyd with his booming voice and good nature. I'm sorry we could not be with you but have you all in our prayers now and in the days to follow. We love you.
