Forrest "Sonny" H. Sell, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born on April 23, 1941, in Deerfield, NH, Sonny was the beloved son of Forrest Herbert Sr. and Eva (Scribner) Sell. He was raised on his parents’ farm in Auburn where he learned the value of hard work and developed a passion for growing, cooking, and serving fresh food.
Sonny’s work ethic, quiet strength, and unwavering generosity was apparent in all he did. On a quest to share his passion for food and appreciation for good hospitality, Sonny opened several successful restaurants in New Hampshire and Florida. His creative mind and skilled hands fueled his entrepreneurial spirit and led him to become a well-known builder who left an indelible mark on his community.
As a proud veteran who served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, Sonny’s sense of duty and patriotism was ever-present as a lifelong supporter of veterans’ causes.
While he certainly enjoyed the finer things in life, he also relished in the quiet of the home he built, the peacefulness and good company at his camp up north, and the beauty of his garden in the summer.
Sonny is survived by his loving family and loyal friends, who will remember him as a hard-working, generous man, a pillar of strength, and a fierce protector of the people he loved most.
Sonny will be missed deeply, but his spirit will live on in our hearts for generations to come.
