Not sure what to say?

It was a clear mid-December evening in 1978 when my husband and I were wed in West Chester, PA. Or were we? One of our officiating pastors was my Uncle Forrest, who, on the heels of "the Kiss" said, "by the powers vested in me in the state of NEW JERSEY, I now pronounce you..."

What may have un-nerved him were two things. Rey and I were married in a PRESBYTERIAN church AND we wanted to share communion together as a declaration of our bond with Jesus Christ. Uncle said it was a...

Forrest Spriggs was my grandpa. I got to spend alot of time with him during his last few weeks here on earth. I can honestly say he is in so much less pain now than he was before and im glad God decided to take him. I havent really been old enough to get to know him over the years but I feel like I did after reading some of his books and sermons. His legacy is definately carried on by his family. Pray for my grandma

St. Francis of Asisi said, Witness constantly and if necessary use words. I think he was talking about Pastor Spriggs. Pastor Spriggs has been a integral part of my life for over 30 years, not only as a Pastor, but as a part of my family and as a community leader. He taught me in Jr. BYF, he taught me in Sunday school, he led me into the waters of Baptism, he stood with me as I requested church membership, he performed my marriage ceremony, he dedicated my 4 children, he baptised my two...

I met Reverend Spriggs as Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 84 where my first impressions of him were as an affable, diplomatic leader. I quickly became friends with his son, John; and from that point on, I ran wild through Reverend and Mrs. Spriggs’ home. From an outsider’s perspective, I was struck by the innocent delight exhibited by a man who quite simply loved his family. I also believe only he could have the quiet, calm nature so necessary to balance his wife’s energy and enthusiasm....

I'm not good with words, but Reverend Spriggs was well loved & respected by the community. My father spoke highly of him. His impact on the community simply can not be measured, but it spanned generations. He is with God and I hope his family finds comfort in that.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord. the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
II Timothy 4:7,8
Remembering Reverend Spriggs and his testimony of Christian love and kindness. Be assured of my prayers for the entire Spriggs family during this difficult time.

I remember Pastor Spriggs as a man of God, and as a man who loved his community. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 84 when I was a scout. May God grant peace to the family.
