To Prof. Bard, Ed and Sara,
I was deeply saddened when I recently learned that Mrs. Bard passed away three years ago. I did not know her well, but I remember that she was always kind and friendly to me as a kid when my family lived in Austin. Please accept heartfelt condolences from my mother and me on your loss. May God comfort you along with all other mourners for Zion and Jerusalem.
Sincerely,
Daniel (Danny) Fish

Sara & Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Your mother was such a delight to be around and was a wonderful teacher to so many - both young and old. Thoughts and prayers are flowing your way. Peace be with you.

Fran Bard was one of the finest school teachers I have ever had the privilege to have worked with in any school. Fran started with me at Doss School in 1971 as we opened Doss Elementary School and again when I returned to Doss in 1981-1988. I depended on her great advice on many issues. She loved her students and always had great relationships with fellow teachers and the parents of her students. I would have been proud to have had my own children in her class. Many of her students went on to become very successful adults, in a great part due to Fran's outstanding teaching that gave them a good foundation in their basic education skills.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing and my condolences are with Allen and the family. I will always remember Fran and what her teaching and friendship meant to me as I served as her principal at Doss Elementary School. Also, I always appreciated Allen and the support he gave to Fran in her teaching career. She was always proud of Allen and his many accomplishments and recognitions.
