Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home - Navasota Obituary

Frances Ann Cone, 86, of Lakeway, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Lakeway.

Graveside services and interment were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Apolonia Cemetery. Her son, Vance Cone, officiated.

Frances was born on September 30, 1938, in Mexia, Texas, to Chester Lee and Minnie Modine Wallace Terry. A devoted and determined educator, she spent 16 years attending five colleges to earn her Master’s degree in Education and went on to serve as a Special Education teacher until retirement. In her younger years, Frances enjoyed listening to music, playing softball, painting, and spending time with family and friends. In later life, she found joy in watching football and classic Westerns—Audie Murphy was her favorite onscreen cowboy, with Randolph Scott a close second. She had a fondness for vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate syrup and cherished outings to restaurants with loved ones. Above all, she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Larry D. Cone of Conroe, and her children, Larry D. Cone, Jr., and Vanessa Lou Cone, both of Conroe.

She is survived by her son, Vance Cone of Austin; daughters-in-law, Anna Macias of Austin and Kathy Cone of Conroe; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her warmth, strength, and love of family.
