Frances Feekes, age 77, of Archer, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at her home in Archer, Iowa. Memorial Services will be Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the Archer Reformed Church in Archer, Iowa. Rev. Jeremy Wiersema officiating. Graveside Service at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation will be Friday, June 24, from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Frances Joan Feekes was born on May 25, 1934, in Terril, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Mamie (Bremer) Petersen. She lived her youth in Terril, Iowa, where she attended school and graduated from high school. Frances attended one year of Business College. She was united in marriage to John Feekes of Archer, Iowa, on April 9, 1954, in Terril, Iowa. They lived and farmed in Archer, Iowa. John passed away on October 30, 2010. Frances loved spending time with her family. She took special time for her grandchildren. Frances enjoyed traveling with John to western United States and Alaska. She passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at her home in rural Archer. Those left to cherish her memories are her three sons: Kerry Feekes of Laurens, IA, and his children: Nick Feekes and Dan Feekes; Terry Feekes of Archer, IA; Randy and Yvette Feekes of Archer, IA, and their children: Joe Feekes, Francesca Feekes, Elisabeth Feekes and Mariel Feekes; one daughter: Lesa Conner of Marion, IA, and her children: John Conner, Sean Conner and Caitlin Conner; two brothers: Duane and Marie Petersen of Terril, IA, Roger and Mina Petersen of Newport, KY; one sister: Marilyn Wells of Iowa City, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Feekes; her parents; sister and brother-in-law: Norma and Don Schmeling; brother: Ronald Petersen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ted and Harriet Feekes; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Mary and John Vanden Brink.
