Frances Christine Beard Floyd LYNDHURST
Frances Christine Beard Floyd, 84, of Lyndhurst Road, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville.
She was born April 17, 1924, a daughter of the late Clarence Withrow and Bertha Elizabeth Swortzel Beard.
She was a former member of Mount Vernon Church of the Brethren, attended Lyndhurst United Methodist Church and was former office manager of Worten-Dyke Silk Mill of Waynesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Curtis S. Floyd on June 30, 2007; a brother, Ralph Beard; two infant brothers; and her stepmother, Pearl Cox.
Survivors include two sons, Paul D. Floyd and his wife, Susan, of Waynesboro, Kenneth W. Floyd and his friend, Alison Livingston, of Lyndhurst; a brother, Malcolm Beard and his wife, Ellen, of Stuarts Draft; four grand-children, Christopher C. Floyd, Angelica L. Floyd, Christina L. Floyd and Jack C. Floyd.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Riverview Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Michael Dettmer and the Reverend Alan Follett.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

Christine was a lovely lady in every sense of the word. She was always kind, considerate and caring. She was an example of how to raise children to be fine, upstanding citizens. She cannot be replaced.
