My thoughts are with you at this painful time. Frances created a real sense of Family in my childhood. She is in my happiest memories--visiting you in the Pacific Palisades before we moved to the States...summer afternoons in Brentwood. More like family than simple neighbors across the way, Frances and Marcel have been genuine, generous, lovingkind friends. Blessed by this friendship and now deeply saddened, I extend my love and comfort to those who mourn and search for the path forward.

I first met Frances in 1970, when she was working as a social worker in LA. From that period until her so untimely death yesterday, I felt her extraordinary concerns for the world around her, her gentleness and compassion for others and her great care and interest in animals.
