Frances went to be with her Lord on March 7, 2019. She was born in Birmingham, AL and attended Jones Valley High School class of 1955. She worked as a secretary for over 25 years at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, AL. After retirement she was employed as a nanny by Teresa and David Clements where she raised her 2 "grandchildren" Dustin and Daniel Clements. Frances was always there for anyone who was in need. She spent many nights sitting up with sick friends and family members. She served her Lord faithfully at Shades Mountain Baptist Church for over 50 years. Frances is survived by her great nephew, Trey Smitherman and his father, Terrell; her niece, Elaine Mobley; the Hamid Khan family; Josh, Roshana, and Luke Wooley. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL. The service will be held in the Chapel at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
