Frances was my 9th and 11th grade English teacher and then she became my friend as an administrator at SCS. What a wonderful person - a true Southern lady!

I will always remember Mrs Haynes because of her huge impact on my life as her student at Germantown High school but moreover for her encouragement in my growth as a new Christian. I will remember her fondly for taking an interest in my life after reading an entry from my Journal about Young Life.

Mrs. Haynes made an indelible impression upon me in my 9th and 11th grade English classes. She made learning English more than a rote subject to plod through, but an interesting adventure. I still remember her weekly 25-word Vocabulary tests. It's because of her I sailed through English 101 at (then) Memphis State University. Deepest sympathies to the family and my admiration for what she gave back to many in her long life.

Fred, my mother Elizabeth Harris was so fond of your whole family knowing all of you through Germantown High School. Then I knew of her as a leader in the legacy Shelby County Schools. My condolences love to you and your family on the passing of this very special lady.
