HYMAN, Frances Clarke, 92, widow of Haywood Blount Hyman Sr. died peacefully at home November 7, 2011. She is survived by her children, daughter, Barbara Little Alexander and her husband, Burt, and their children, Pam Varnier, Mary Frances Pair, Burt Alexander III; nephews, Arthur and Adam Clarke; daughter, Bunny Little Addison and her husband, Ned and their children, Anne Clarke Lagarde, Martha Meade Weaver and Lucy Page Williams; daughter, Mary Carter Hyman and her children, Kate Mishra, Huddy and Henry Skiba; son, Haywood "Huddy" B. Hyman Jr. and his wife, Claudette and their children, Haywood, Thomas and Virginia; son, William Clarke Hyman and his children, Andrew, Kenan and William; daughter, Ann Parker Gottwald and her husband, Teddy and their children, Thomas, Daniel, Clarke, Ted and Mark; and her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Hyman and her children, Wheatie Gibb, Todd, R.C. and Chris; sister-in-law, Lucy Little Keel; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Virginia Clarke Puller, Alice Clarke, Arthur Clarke, William Clarke and Margaret Clarke. Frances was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Club, The Tuckahoe Woman's Club and Hermitage Country Club, where she was an avid golfer. She loved her family and all the time they shared on 47th St. at Virginia Beach. She enjoyed managing her Virginia Beach properties, going to UNC football games, caring for her many friends and attending daily mass. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for her loving caregiver, Nora James; and her special friends, Gail Maurice, Gail and Roger Shepherd. The family will receive friends at Bliley's-Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the Rosary will be recited Thursday at 4:30 p.m. followed by visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 909 Rennie Ave., Richmond, Va. Private burial will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, or Mary, Mother of the Church Bendictine Abbey, 12829 River Road, Richmond, Va. 23238, of which she was a passionate supporter.
