Kerr, Frances Rose age 80, of Excelsior, passed away on July 18, 2006. Frances was born in Ware, Massachusetts on June 7, 1926. She was the daughter of Hector and Geneva Noreau of Munson, Massachusetts. She grew up in Boston. As a young woman, she moved to Miami Beach, Florida where she worked for a doctor and began to pursue her love of song, performing in a Miami night club during the early 1950s. In Miami she met John Maxwell Kerr. They were married on July 27, 1952 at Valley Forge Army Hospital in Valley Forge Pennsylvania. The couple eventually moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa where they had five children. While in Iowa, Frances became a nurse. She both practiced as an LPN and taught nursing in the area. In 1984 the couple relocated to the Twin Cities. Frances was an avid antique collector, which stems from her early years in New England. She loved to attend flea markets, estate sales, and was always in pursuit of "treasures." Frances had a love for gardening and had a gift for home decorating. She had extraordinary culinary skills. In combination, she loved a good book and a white sandy beach. Surviving are her husband of fifty-four years, John M. Kerr of Excelsior, MN; daughters, Lisa (Jim) Jonas of Norwood, MN, Julie Kerr-Berry (Timothy Berry) of Waconia, MN, Sara Kerr (James McManus) of Chapel Hill, NC; sons, Stephen (Moira) Kerr of Manlius, NY, Paul Kerr (Sandy Spray- Kerr) of Orono, MN; brother, Robert (Janet) Noreau of Rockland, MA; thirteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, July 24, 2006 at 4 PM, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4537 3rd Ave S., Mpls (612-823-8205). Visitation Sunday, 4-7 PM at Huber Funeral Home, 520 2nd St., Excelsior.
